Who We Are
Refugee Help Digital Network (Hungarian: Segítségnyújtás MOST - Menekültek Online Segítő Társasága) started out as a local, Facebook support group Segítségnyújtás (Ukrajna,Kárpátalja) Допомога українцям with the aim to utilize online solutions to connect refugees in need of help, with local civilians looking for a forum to offer their help. Since then, the initiative has grown into one of the most effective and well-known digital support channels in Hungary, a large online community with more than 130,000 members. We provide vital information first-hand to refugees and serve as a reliable platform for coordination and communication for civilians and humanitarian actors.
What We Do
We connect refugees with resources and local communities to address their various needs. Based on the thousands of incoming inquiries from refugees and volunteers, we develop information contents with our experts to address the most frequently asked questions.
We form a bridge between individuals, who wish to help, civil and professional organizations and institutions, and refugees coming from Ukraine, by connecting help requests and offers (accommodation, aid, transport, translation, information, etc.).
We function as a reliable and efficient communication channel for aid organizations, individuals, who offer help and volunteers.
We gather and publish comprehensive, up-to-date and reliable information about travel, border crossing, application for aid-, refugee status-, health care and education, events, location of charity points, meal distribution and other topics useful for refugees.
With the assistance of experts, we offer help in specific areas (such as psychological help, legal assistance, translation, information about rights for services, etc.).
Our team of volunteers aim to ensure that information for refugees and for those who offer aid is published in a safe, relevant, timely, reliable and easily searchable way in our group.

Our Mission
Our team is dedicated to supporting displaced individuals in a secure and carefully managed online platform. We provide a space where they can openly seek guidance, obtain trustworthy information, and trust in the strength of community support and peer-to-peer assistance from locals. Through this digital environment, we aim to empower displaced people by giving them access to reliable resources and a network of individuals willing to offer solidarity and aid. By fostering an atmosphere of understanding and collaboration, we hope to create a positive and inclusive community that can make a difference in the lives of those in need.
We strongly believe in the transformative power of the peer-to-peer aspect of social media. It is truly remarkable how regular civilians come together, willing to lend a helping hand to those in need. Our online space serves as a platform to foster a culture of volunteering, solidarity, mutual respect and paying it forward.
How We Do It
Our team constantly explores innovative, digital solutions to provide humanitarian aid with a web 3.0 approach, which uses online tools to deliver real time, physical help.
We handle every incoming request for help with a structured case management process in order to provide the most efficient help in various areas (shelter, transport, healthcare, education, legal aid, programs, benefits, temporary protection, psychological aid etc.). We also create and maintain databases, collect and develop reliable information contents, and serve as a virtual center for experts and organizations who can provide further assistance for refugees.
